Adrian Joseph Bertoli – Ph.D. Candidate
My work at Medical Museion
I am working on a Ph.D. project that concerns communication and identity formation in patients with type 2 diabetes. The project will be a qualitative investigation into the effects communication and communicative practices might have for the formation and maintenance of a type 2 diabetes identity, both for the patient and society in general. Data will be gathered in Canada and Denmark through interviews, observations and analysis of various media sources. I began the project in October 2010 and it will be completed at the end of September 2013. The project is part of the Center for Healthy Aging’s research program 5 on Health Promotion and Innovation.
My background
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Guelph, Canada. I also have a Master of Arts degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from Arcadia University, USA and a Master of Philosophy degree in International Community Health from the University of Oslo, Norway.
