Life on the Line
– A Game about Ageing
Life on the Line is a communicative experiment with the aim of addressing the entire process of ageing in a way that is both informative and fun. The game is based on research results and expert knowledge, and created with the assistance of the University of Copenhagen’s Center for Healthy Aging, as well as professionals from patient and healthcare organisations.
The game shows how the body and life conditions change over a lifetime. Sometimes we are confronted by a life situation or sudden illness that speeds up the ageing process. At other times we are lucky and have a strong, healthy body well into old age.
The game plays with the many elements of ageing, and the winner is the player who has the longest life. In real life it would never be possible to add up lifestyle choices and illnesses in years, so don’t take the point system too seriously. Reality is always more complex, but we hope the game can give you an idea of how disease, lifestyle choices and chance can impact on how the body ages.
