Metabolic Poetics
This international literary reading event brings together poets from Canada, Denmark, and Poland whose work engages in varied and provocative ways with themes of ecology and environments, and with the relationship between metabolism and writing.
The metabolism of our bodies is connected to the metabolism of the planet. We transform, reshape, or “write” our environments through the ways we inhabit them, altering flows of matter, energy, and life. In turn, our environments “write” us, shaping our bodies, rhythms, relationships, and ways of living. Metabolism offers a way of thinking about this ongoing exchange between inside and outside, organism and environment, body and world.
The event features the following poets:
Adam Dickinson (Canada)
Julia Fiedorczuk (Poland)
Shëkufe Tadayoni Heiberg (Denmark)
Luka Holmegaard (Denmark)
Mette Moestrup (Denmark)
Agata Puwalska (Poland)
angela rawlings (Canada/Iceland)
Łukasz Woźniak (Poland)
