Cosy Courtyard Café

Take a break in our courtyard café and enjoy a freshly brewed coffee, cake, a sandwich, a glass of wine, or an ice cream. Not many people know that the museum’s courtyard hides a peaceful green oasis in the heart of the city. Once the private garden of the Nobel Prize-winning physicist Niels Bohr, it is now open to everyone during the museum’s opening hours. You’ll find the entrance through the gate at Bredgade 62. No museum ticket is required to visit the café.

Exhibitions

We have several fascinating exhibitions open throughout the summer. Explore The Body Collected, featuring the museum’s historical collections relating to the human body, from the late eighteenth century to the present day. From foetuses and skeletons to cells and DNA, the exhibition traces changing ways of understanding the human body. In Mind the Gut, the relationship between the brain and the gut is put under the microscope, showing how doctors, researchers, patients, and artists have sought to understand and treat this complex connection over time. Liquid Bodies explores how stem cells and stem cell medicine may shape our lives, both today and in the future. And one day, COVID-19 will be history too. Corona will also be history one day examines major epidemics throughout history and how societies have responded to them.
