The Medical Museion has received a 3-year research grant of 4.2 million Danish kroner from the Carlsberg Foundation. The project, named ‘Health Matters’, aims to contribute to our understanding of complex health conditions

From 2018 to 2023, I have been part of the metabolic objects project at Medical Museion. As the project has now ended, in this blog post I want to reflect a bit on the twists and turns of the project and revisit some of the core ideas that developed along the way.

Medical Museion has achieved an impressive second place in the race for the prestigious international museum award – the UMAC Award.

Martin Gerster Johansen comes from a position as head of exhibitions at the newly opened ENIGMA – Museum for Communication. He was a key figure in the museum’s transformation from Post & Tele Museum in Købmagergade to the new ENIGMA on Østerbro in Copenhagen.

Congratulations to Kristin Hussey whose book Imperial Bodies in London. Empire, Mobility, and the Making of British Medicine, 1880-1914 (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2021) has been announced as this year’s winner of the Whitfield Book Prize.

Medicinsk Museion vinder Dibner Award for Excellence in Museum Exhibits for onlineudstillingen: Life Support. Prisen tildeles 20. november 2021.

Medicinsk Museion har med glæde modtaget en bevilling på kr. 711.291.- fra Cand. Pharm Povl M. Assens Fond til at overtage instrumenter, diagnoseudstyr, billeder m.m. fra Holstebro Sygehus.

Sundhedsminister Magnus Heunicke besøgte i sidste uge Medicinsk Museion. Her overleverede han sin grafik med den røde og grønne kurve til museets samling. Siden udbruddet af Corona har Medicinsk Museion samlet relevante objekter og historier ind. Nu bliver den velkendte graf en del af historien og gemt til eftertiden.
